Why have a ski workshop?
Free heel skiers are almost always a curiosity. And this curiosity may be seen in the various different types of skis telemarkers use: broad, narrow, long, short, thick, dual tip, and for some time now we are beginning to also see home-made skis. That’s right, some people – perhaps the most curious – have started making their own. How many people would like to try the famous “Spatola della Volant” – with inverted waist fitting, from the negative bridge – how many, if they could? Then now you can! This year, at Livigno, thanks to the help and advice of those who have been making skis for some time, you can also try your hand and, at the end of the week, you will have the satisfaction of having made your own skis.
When and how
Every day, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the “Ski workshop”, set up in Plaza Placheda (where you can also find the accreditation office and the Free Heel Expo), experts will help you to make your own pair of skis, just as you want them.
Davide, our expert and yours, has already been making skis for himself, and will now help all those wishing to try, but had never dared.
How
The cores of the skis will already be glued, but in the crude state. You need to shape them according to your choice. Together with Davide, you will then glue them and apply the lamina and finish the skis according to your own taste.
As a guideline, 4 days, working one to two hours per day, will be sufficient to make your pair of skis. Anyone who can’t spare the time, can begin the work and, following the instructions which will be provided, finish the job at home.
Taking part has a cost of € 185 (all the materials necessary to make your skis are included in the price). Maximum number of participants: 15.
To participate in Ski Atelier, a workshop for those who would like to build their own pair of skis, please register before the 13rd of March.
Your reservation will be confirmed once you have payed the registration fee online (€ 185.00). In case of cancelation, 50% of the fee will be refunded.
